
An armed Texas man turned the tables on a violent assailant who beat an elderly patron unconscious at a BBQ restaurant, according to police.
Around noon on Aug. 14, a man entered Woody’s Smokehouse in Centerville, Texas. The man allegedly became aggressive and harassed several customers at the barbecue restaurant, which was caught on surveillance video.
The agitator – later identified by police as Kevin Craig Anderson from Houston – reportedly went to the restaurant’s restroom and attacked an elderly man. He beat the old man unconscious and continued to assault him while he was on the floor, according to police.
A man came to the elderly patron’s aid, but then Anderson then assaulted the good Samaritan. He too was knocked to the ground and Anderson allegedly continued to batter him. The man who was attacked had a license to carry. The apparent good guy with a gun acted in self-defense and shot Anderson two times, police said. The armed man shot Anderson in the right arm.
The wounded Anderson fled the BBQ restaurant. Police found Anderson in his vehicle on the shoulder of a highway.
