After going dark on Twitter for almost two weeks, Bud Light resumed tweeting on Friday and was seriously ratioed.
The brand’s first tweet since April 1 came after Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth issued a bland statement on Friday in an apparent attempt to quell the groundswell of negative sentiment that erupted over the company’s move to enlist a man who identifies as a transgender woman to advertise the beverage.
Bud Light’s tweet simply showed a can of beer along with a message that said, “TGIF?”

The post elicited thousands of reactions.
“You guys should probably just give up posting for a while, or forever,” Matt Walsh of the Daily Wire tweeted.
“Stop promoting transgender ideology,” tweeted Stephen Miller, who served as senior advisor to President Donald Trump.
“I don’t drink transbeer,” BlazeTV host Sara Gonzales tweeted.

The same post over on Instagram was greeted with similarly derisive comments.
“Woke light. No thanks,” one person wrote.
“I don’t usually drink beer, but when I do …. IT WONT BE BUDLIGHT…
