Chris Pollak of Aurora played his way to the first-round lead with a 5-under-par 67, and added a 76 in the final round to earn his second consecutive championship at the NOPGA Kenny Novak tourney.
Pollak shot 1-under-par over 36 holes to best Carter Begue of Dover, who completed the tourney at 6-over-par. Pollak, a sophomore at Hoban, won the 13-to-15 age division in 2021 and decided to move up an age division this season.
Former Portage County Matt Mishler Junior Amateur champion Dylan Dunn of Stow earned a top 10 at the Kenny Novak, firing 10-over-par after a first-round 74. Max Devins of Aurora also landed in the top 10, carding a 156 total.
Rounding out the local golfers in the Kenny Novak were Aurora’s Gracyn Vidovic (4th place in the girls 11-to-15 age division, +21) and Kent’s Madolyn Kost (tiedfor 7th place in the girls 16-to-19 age division, +18).
MUD RUN FUTURES TOUR…

The boys 8-to-11 age division was dominated by local golfers at the top of the leaderboard.
It was a good week for the Pollak family as Nick Pollak, brother of the Kenny Novak champion Chris Pollak, earned first place at 2-over-par. He topped Nathan Kinter, a future Southeast High School golfer, by five strokes.
More than 30 kids competed in the championship.
