No Hand Outs

The Majority of the people that attended this meeting (regarding northside property buyouts) were Slum-Lords that rent out depleted properties for a profit . These Slum-Lords had the sense to move out years ago to the south side of town .Some have had these properties for over 25 years in the hope of a neighborhood buy-out .They all know who they are I am at all of these meetings in the front row .

Say It Ain't So, Mayor Joe!

When Joe Adame ran against the aging Henry "Doolittle" Garrett, he promised a change in city politics. We would no longer be beholden to out of town developers and local real estate power brokers trying to pull the wool over the taxpayer's eyes with more Pie-In-The-Sky projects. Mayor Joe was going to focus our tax dollars and city staff to run the City for the locals, who, BTW, PAY THE BILLS. Candidate Joe also promised a quick & decisive finish to the Memorial Coliseum Melodrama that the former Mayor Doolittle had saddled us with for the past decade.

My Hero

As I was awaken this morning to the sounds of blaring sirens , I do not know why I thought to myself , Please don't let it be one of mine .As I woke up to turn on the news and police scanner on the computer I then heard some disturbing news that I could not make out to clearly on the Caller Times police scanner .A child stuck in a burning house in my very own neighborhood .As I listened in shock I just wondered off thinking what the parents of this young child named Issac David De Leon must be doing at this very moment .Now is the time for the City of Corpus Christi to join together in memory
